Diwan Bahadur Sir Arcot Lakshmanaswami Mudaliar was an educationist and physician. He was a multi-faceted personality, much ahead of his times and a keen observer. The world would remember him as an outstanding medical statesman.
MIM played a key role in founding AIMA, the southern council and other regional associations, which would become the pillars of management thought.
The institute extended its global connections by networking with other management associations around the world.
The name change to MMA was required to conform with the names of similar institutions in the country.
“Prosperity Through Better Management” – was the theme of MMA’s first management convention.
"Madras Management Association (MMA) pools management thoughts in the country particularly in South India and develop managerial ethos to facilitate furtherance of the management profession and its contribution to the society as a continuous endeavor to public at large, without restricting the same to the members of the Association."
